I (Carol) had been in Kansas for about six months and wasn't seeing anyone. I was still living at my mom's, working a full time job, and didn't have many friends in Kansas City. Growing tired of prince charming lagging on his job to find me. Finally ready for the real thing, I picked a Starbucks only five minutes from my home to meet up with this guy. We met early around 8am at Starbucks. I messaged him that I had arrived, and he came to my car. When I saw him I was nervous because he was just as I expected — good looking. He was wearing a suit for church. We got into Starbucks ordered drinks and found a table. We spoke for over two hours, never a dull moment, I could tell I would like to see him again. He looked at the time and said, well I am already late for church. I told him I could let him go, but he said no it was ok, so we continued to talk. He looked at his phone soon after saying that his evening meeting was canceled and asked if I'd like to meet for dinner that night. I had never been asked on a second date for the same day. I agreed, I wanted to see him again. Later that night we drove separately to LongHorn Steakhouse. After a great dinner, we had a giant piece of cheese cake, then he insisted we hit the bowling alley. I agreed, but he wanted to take his car over to the alley and I was hesitant. I told him if he takes me anywhere else other than the place we were going that I would stab him in the throat. He looked shocked, but agreed and I got in his car for the very first time. He could tell I was stiff and nervous. We arrived into the alley parking lot and its dark, the alley was closed. We left back to the restaurant parking lot. I suggested Dave and Busters since it was across the street and still open. We went and he purchased the most credits you could put on a card to play games. I was pretty impressed. Let me tell you I was all smiles that night. We played games and had fun. Afterwards it was super late when we headed to the cold parking lot. I asked him if he had to leave, he said no, so we got in my car and spoke some more. I knew I liked him as our conversations branched out. After that we went our separate ways that night. After that great Sunday, Travis headed out for training courses for a couple days and we didn't get to hang out. He texted me every chance he got free. When he came back we saw each other for a bit, then I was off to a training program with my company. Three days out in Springfield MO, we spoke every day and texted back and forth. We spent every day hanging out after those times away from each other. It was such a great feeling to have someone I called mine, a partner and a best friend all in one. He was a gentlemen through it all and I knew what I felt for the first time in my life was complete. He spoke of a future together, we already started planning a future together, it was soon but it felt more than right. I like to believe the Lord brought us together.
